Gerrie Waugh, M.A., BC Registered Psychologist, is a Senior Instructor for two of our most popular workshops, Communication Skills and Listening and Responding. She provides specialized consulting services in the areas of conflict resolution, executive coaching, and team building.
Gerrie is a member of the BC College of Psychologists and recipient of the Master Teacher award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. She has consulted with clients throughout Canada, the US, Mexico, Asia and the Middle East. Gerrie draws on more than twenty years of practice as a teacher at the college and university level, as well as a vast body of experience as a consultant and trainer for clients in social services, the legal community, local government and corporate organizations.
Dr. Phil George, LL.B., Ph.D., teaches the Dynamic Writing workshops. He is a Senior Instructor for Clear Communication Consultants and he has specialized expertise in Plain Language Forms Design.
Dr. Phil has a background in law and an interest in rewriting complex materials to make them more easily understood by the ordinary citizen. He teaches business communication at the college level, and he specializes in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners to communicate effectively.
Carol M. Cram, M.A., M.BA, is a Senior Instructor for Clear Communication Consultants and the author of more than fourty university textbooks on computer applications, business communications, and internet-related subjects.
Carol specializes in developing materials and strategies that help readers make sense of complex tasks and concepts. She teaches clear and easy-to-understand writing style that’s invaluable to business professionals, and her individualized communications strategies have assisted thousands of task-oriented business writers get results.
Carol manages the Executive and Project Administration Program at Capilano University, and she is a frequent keynote speaker at educational conferences throughout North America.
Dr. Tom McKeown, M.A., Ph.D., is President of Clear Communication Consultants Ltd.
Tom has lectured in English at Simon Fraser University and Capilano University, and has engineered a highly successful distance education course for the Open University. Tom is the author of the best-selling textbook The Business of Communicating, as well as Powerful Business Writing, Better Business Writing, and numerous communication programs. Tom also wrote and designed Written Power, an online business and technical writing program.
Tom is a champion of the Plain Language movement and has developed online banking communications for Citizens Bank, the Royal Bank of Canada and CIBC. Tom was Project Director for the Report of the British Columbia Task Force on negotiating aboriginal land claims, and he is an experienced mediator with expertise in the areas of education, business, and aboriginal affairs.
